Walla Walla Public Schools is now partnering with SchoolMessenger to keep parents and staff informed through telephone calls, emails and text messages. SchoolMessenger services will also include a new mobile app and expansion of district social media messages.

Telephone Consumer Protection Act: Parents and staff will be able to opt-out of General Messages per the Federal Communications Commission Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) law. Follow the simple instructions below to opt-out of messages.

NOTE: Emergency messages do not apply.

Opt-Out Instructions

(Using Skyward Family Access Skylert – Parents and staff with children in district)

1.    Log-in and open Skyward Family Access

3.    Once in Skyward, go to the left hand menu and click on “Skylert”

4.    Review contact information and ensure current information is in Skylert (Change information as needed)

5.    Uncheck the General Message box to Opt-Out of these messages

6.    Select “Save” to save your information to the system & exit

1.    Log-in and open SchoolMessenger InfoCenter (NOTE: Click the Sign Up button and create an account)

2.    Review “Preferences”, select "General" and uncheck desired items 

3.    Select “Save” to save your information to the system & exit

Types of Messages


• School/District related emergency impacting school district

• Weather-related school delays and closures

• Power outage or other issues during the school day which causes school to end early

• Community emergency impacting families


• School activities and events

• PTA and other school-related groups/agencies messages


• Parents with students in grades 6-12 will receive a message if their child has an unexcused absence

(NOTE: Parents with students in preschool through grade 5 will receive a live call from a district staff member)
