Berney student state winner in history essay contest
Sarita McCaw presented Berney Elementary 5th grade student Carolyn Bergman with an award for writing the winning essay for the Daughters of the American Revolution's contest. She also won at the regional level.
McCaw said Bergman wrote clearly, on topic and was clever with her approach to this topic. McCaw said Carolyn told a wonderful story about children during the time of the Revolutionary War. McCaw has coordinated this program for the past 35 years.
