Whitman College Partnership

Whitman College students will have a significant presence in district schools again this year as 51 interns will be working at 11 partner educational buildings in the Walla Walla School District and valley as part of the American Reads/American Counts program. A new addition this year is the YMCA after-school program for middle school youth.

“This year we have a very diverse and talented group which includes students from Kenya, Zimbabwe, Mongolia, China and Eqypt,” said Susan Prudente, Assistant Director of Community Engagement at Whitman College. “We are helping to globalize our classrooms through these amazing connections.”
