Equity and Dual Programs Department coordinator Sergio Hernandez recently traveled to Washington State University to recruit potential teachers at its Career Fair. (L-R) Sydney Horton, a senior Social Studies major from Kent, WA, Alondra Munoz, a freshman Psychology major who is interested in becoming a school counselor and Valene Rice, a junior Elementary Education major, expressed interest in working for Walla Walla Public Schools. Hernandez meets regularly with college students to encourage them to apply for open positions in Walla Walla. The district’s teacher recruitment plan aligns with Goal 2 of the Strategic Plan focused on skilled educators delivering high quality instruction.
