Taste Washington Day

School kitchens throughout the district will be filled with the aroma of local beef, fresh fruits and vegetables Wednesday, September 25 as part of the statewide Taste Washington Day. School lunches will be scratch cooked with local foods.

Taste Washington Day Menu:
- Meatloaf or Meat Balls (local beef)
- Peppers, Cantaloupe, Carrots, Corn, Cucumbers, Grapes, Green Beans, Onions, Pluots, Pears, and Potatoes
- All fruit and vegetables are from local farms and will be picked fresh for this event.

“We are celebrating the bounty of the Walla Walla Valley,” said district Nutrition Services Director Pamela Milleson. “This event also supports our Farm-to-School program which attempts to source some school foods locally, while providing complimentary education activities that emphasize food, farming and nutrition.”
