Foster returns to Edison Elementary

Foster returns to the helm of Edison Elementary

Former Edison Elementary Principal Jenny Foster is returning to her position next school year following a two-year leave of absence to care for a family member. Foster was principal from 2020 to 2022. Current Principal Marlene Perez is moving to the District Office to leverage her expertise and experience in support of the multilingual program in the Equity and Dual Language Department.

Edison Elementary is the district’s magnet Dual Language school serving students from throughout the Walla Walla community. Foster, who is bilingual, has worked as an adjunct instructor at Oregon State University, supervised student teachers and taught college-level Spanish. She also led nearly a dozen student travel groups to Mexico, Costa Rica and Peru, and completed the Margins Social Justice Immersion Program in Los Angeles, CA.

Prior to coming to Walla Walla, Foster was an associate principal in the Mercer Island School District, where she participated on the building and district leadership teams, served on the instructional coaching committee, and was active on the district instructional materials selection committee. Foster received her administrative degree from the Danforth Leadership Program at the University of Washington.

Foster will resume her Principal position July 1, 2024.
