Board work session summary

School board continues Wa-Hi improvements discussion during work session
Tuesday evening the Board of Directors conducted a public work session to continue a community dialog regarding the facility improvements at Walla Walla High School. All board members and Superintendent Mick Miller were present.   Approximately 21 people, including district staff and community members, were in attendance. President Golden and Superintendent Miller facilitated the work session. The purpose of the work session was to discuss and review facility improvement options for Walla Walla High School and when or if a bond election would be presented to the voters this school year.

Survey results indicate community members believe facility improvements are needed at WWHS. However, there are various opinions as to how and when to address these needs. Superintendent Miller reported the district is committed to working with the community to develop a plan that best meets community and district needs. Golden thanked those who attended for their interest, thoughtful comments and open responses.  The board will further review options and encouraged anyone to contact board members with comments or suggestions.  No decisions were made during the work session.
