Office of the Washington State Auditor Confirms Clean Audit for Walla Walla Public Schools

The Office of the Washington State Auditor has completed its accountability audit of Walla Walla Public Schools for the fiscal year 2022-2023, noting no findings or out-of-compliance areas.

“The clean audit report underscores Walla Walla Public Schools' ongoing efforts to prioritize financial stewardship and operational excellence,” said Director of Fiscal Services Janette Jeffris. “This audit, which reviewed the areas of enrollment, state professional learning funds, supplemental contracts, accounts payable, school board meeting minutes, use of local levy funds and our financial condition, found no recommendations for improvement."

Jeffris said it is rare to receive an audit with no recommendations which confirms the district's commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparency.

"The outcome of the audit shows our dedication to sound financial practices that benefit our students and community,” said Jeffris. “We want to thank the dedicated staff out in buildings and the business office for their hard work in ensuring all documentation, receipts, invoices and signatures were in order.”

Jeffris says the district looks forward to continuing to serve its students and stakeholders with integrity and diligence.
