Snow, ice and school cancellations didn’t seem to stop the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) from excelling on Feb. 10 in the Tri-Cities at the Winter Conference. Several members placed in the top six and are now advancing to State in the following events.

FBLA members prepare by first choosing an event that they either want to learn more about or one that they have already acquired skills and knowledge from having taken a business class. Wa-Hi’s School of Business offers a variety of business and computer classes. Over the course of a few short months, usually without the interruptions from school closures, FBLA members research and fine tune presentation materials and speeches, hone production skills, and practice. Events can include speaking and presentations, presentations along with online objective exams, production tests and online objective exams or just objective exams.

The State competition will be held in Spokane in April.  “I am really proud of our FBLA chapter here at Wa-Hi. Through this experience, they have the opportunity to see firsthand how important business is for their future success” adviser Bernard Ma said.
