Walla Walla High School graduate joins C2C to support Blue Ridge families
Walla Walla High School Class of 2009 graduate Lizbette “Liz” Morin recently earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Idaho and has returned to her home town to join ranks with Commitment to Community in support of Walla Walla families. Morin will serve as a Blue Ridge Neighborhood Outreach Organizer for Commitment to Community which is a department within Blue Mountain Action Council.

As the Blue Ridge Community Organizer, she will be establishing a partnership with the Blue Ridge Elementary School.

“I have a passion and drive to empower parents to take initiative and be involved in their students’ education, as well as, to build a parent network within the Blue Ridge Elementary community,” Morin said. “I am motivated and excited to work with Blue Ridge students to help them build a strong support system between classmates, families, and their communities.”

Morin was born in McAllen, TX, but raised in the Washington Park community in Walla Walla. She attended Green Park Elementary and Garrison Middle School before graduating from Walla Walla High School. During her years at Walla Walla High School, she was involved in the Latino Club, French Club, National Honor Society, DECA, and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).

Morin majored in accounting, management and human resources. As a Vandal at the University of Idaho, she volunteered, worked, and was a member for multiple organizations within campus and the community. Her college involvement included Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority, Unity, Hispanic Business Student Association, Multicultural Greek Council, Associated Students of the University of Idaho, Residence Hall Association, Disability Act Center, and Family Promise of the Palouse.

“I decided to continue my path in working with underprivileged communities and moved back to my wonderful hometown of Walla Walla,” Morin said. “I strongly believe that tomorrow’s community environment begins with today’s actions. I look forward to partnering with the Blue Ridge Elementary so that today’s students can get involved in their communities, ultimately graduate from high school and onto higher education, and one day give back to our community!”
