Debate team posts best state finish in program history

This past weekend members of the Walla Walla High School Debate team traveled to Tacoma to compete in the State Debate Tournament. Wa-Hi had its strongest showing ever at the tournament, placing 4th overall as a team in Lincoln-Douglas debate, according to Coach Jean Tobin.

“Malcolm Gabbard tied for 3rd, losing in semi-finals to a debater from Gonzaga Prep who ultimately won the tournament and Russell Skorina placed 11th in the State in Congressional Debate,” said Tobin. “These are the highest rankings Wa-Hi students have ever received in those events!”
