Walla Walla High School hires new Girls' Head Volleyball Coach
Longtime area volleyball coach Don Hepker has been hired as the new Walla Walla High School Girls' Head Volleyball Coach. Hepker replaces Audra Cummings who resigned following the 2011 season.
Hepker has coached volleyball for 27 years, including leading the Walla Walla University women's volleyball program as its head coach for the past 10 years. Hepker says he is committed to ethical competition, sportsmanship, and excellence, both on and off the court. During his tenure at Walla Walla University, Hepker led the team to two United States Collegiate Athletic Association National tournaments where the teams placed 4th and 5th and earned berths at the NIAA conference tournament.
"We are very excited to have hired Don Hepker to lead the Wa-Hi volleyball program and we will do whatever we can to support him in his new position," said Walla Walla High School Principal Pete Peterson. "Whenever you can hire a coach with Dons experience, success and established positive relationships within the community, it is a win-win for all stakeholders."
