FFA Champion

Walla Walla High School student Jackson Adams earned 1st Place in the individual category in Plant Systems Division 5 at the State of Washington FFA Agriscience Fair on Saturday, April 22.

He presented his research, "Spectrophotometric Analysis of Wine in Determining the Regional Origin of Vineyard" where Jackson determined that light spectroscopy could be used to discriminate wines from Walla Walla and Columbia Valleys to nonlocal wines from outside the region.

Placing first at state opens the door for Jackson to submit his research paper to be considered to compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN in early November. Jackson will be attending Northwestern University in the fall. He is the son of Dan and Teresa Adams.
