Perron receives Award of Merit

Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Wade Smith presented Director for Equity and Dual Programs Dr. Julie Perron with a Washington School Administrators Association Award of Merit for the Southeast Region. Superintendent Smith noted Dr. Perron has become a statewide leader surrounding her work involving equity and student voice.

"She has presented at state and national conferences on Building Belonging, championed efforts that have elevated student agency, and has served instrumental in engaging underrepresented parents and community," said Dr. Smith. "Her accomplishments are simply far too many to list. She has pioneered the student Building Belonging recognition, developed the Equitably Engaging Strategies for Everyone (EESE) Task Force, has participated in initiatives such as Diversify our Narrative, and has prioritized family engagement and inclusion."
