Why not improve Borleske?

Why doesn't the district just make improvements to Borleske?

Borleske is a natural grass baseball complex that serves as Whitman College's baseball practice and competition facility, hosts the Walla Walla Sweets Wooden Bat League, and provides access to Legion baseball for over nine months of the year. It is only temporarily converted to a football field for five Wa-Hi home games.

It could not serve as a multi-sport complex as it is not accessible in the fall and spring to support Wa-Hi soccer, and would not accommodate artificial field turf to support football practices, JV games/practices, lacrosse and other activities such as marching band. In addition, it is not in a location to support track and field, physical education classes, or support community use/access throughout the year.
