Construction Underway!

Local contractor tapped for Capital Levy site work at Wa-Hi

Construction is underway on the historic outdoor athletic and activity facilities projects included in the Outdoor Capital Levy. General contractor Hellas Construction, one of the nation’s leading sports field construction companies, will be utilizing local contractors to assist in the significant civil, electrical and site work associated with the turf fields, track improvements and lighting upgrades. Eagon Excavating and Construction Services of Walla Walla has been secured by Hellas to complete the excavation and site work at Walla Walla High School for both turf fields and the tennis courts. Owner Chris Eagon is a Class of 1998 Wa-Hi graduate. He appreciates the commitment to tap local businesses for these projects.

“I was heavily involved in sports throughout high school and am excited to be part of these improvements for future generations,” said Eagon. “We’re very fortunate there is such an emphasis to utilize local contractors.”

The district invites the community to the groundbreaking celebration Thursday, May 30 at 10 a.m. at the Wa-Hi Klicker Track.
