Veterans invited to Wa-Hi ceremony November 10
JROTC cadets & Wa-Hi ASB co-host Nov.10 Veterans' Day ceremony
The cadets from the Walla Walla High School JROTC "Blue Devil" cadet battalion and the Wa-Hi ASB will host a special ceremony to honor area veterans on Nov. 10.
Event: Wa-Hi student assembly to honor Veterans & Veterans Day
When: THURSDAY Nov 10, 2011 ... program starts at 9:30 a.m. Veterans please arrive around 8 a.m. to be greeted and signed in.
Location: Walla Walla High School Gymnasium
Participants: Assembled student body of WWHS ... and ALL Veterans in the WW area who can attend.
Who is a veteran?...: Any person honorably discharged from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, retired from any of the same, and who served in any component of those... Active, Reserve, Guard... during any era, from World War Two to Present. NOTE: If the Veteran has passed on, a family member may attend and participate in their stead.
Program: Speech by a featured speaker, short video program, slideshow of WWHS grads who are Vets
Honors: Saber arch and personal introduction and short Veteran bio of all Vets attending
Special: SIGNIFICANT OTHERS are also invited and especially welcome. They also served while their Veteran was away from home.
Administrative: FREE, open to the public. Special reserved designated parking for attending Veterans. WWHS JROTC asks attendees to be at Wa-Hi gym by 9 a.m.
