Major error in Union Bulletin Edison Bond article

There is a major error in fact in tonight's Union Bulletin newspaper story on the Edison bond issue.

It states this proposal will increase taxes $1.38 per $1,000. This statement is wrong.

This proposal will increase taxes approximately 20 cents per thousand. The district's total bond debt will be approximately $1.38 per thousand with the addition of the Edison Bond.

Walla Walla Public Schools currently has debt remaining for Green Park, Garrison and Sharpstein as well as the new Edison amount -- thus the $1.38 per thousand total district bond debt.

The district has requested a front page correction.
