The Walla Walla High School JROTC Drill and Shooting Teams traveled to LaPine, OR, over the weekend. Both groups lived up to the history and traditions of the cadet battalion and brought home more honors for their competitive excellence.

Drill Teams from 12 schools competed, the Sponsors team of young women cadets took 2nd Place. The Sponsors Color Guard won 3rd place. The Men’s Drill Color Guard placed 4th. Cadet Lt. Col. Darcy White also captured individual honors in 3rd place for her precision command of the Sponsors Drill Team.

The WaHi JROTC shooting teams also excelled in competition that included 10 teams in some categories.

Precision Team members won overall 1st Place. Individual honors went to Cadet Maj. Amber Criss who, once again, fired her way to 1st place at the event. Cadet Cpl. Elliott Holt took 3rd place.

Sporter Team members compete in levels based on experience. Cadet 1st Lt. Cody Nordheim took 4th in the Master Class. Cadet Pvt. Alex Hedine placed 2nd in the Expert Class, Cadet 1st Sgt. Thomas Christen placed 3rd in Expert; Cadet Command Sgt. Maj. Clinton Zahl placed 2nd in the Marksman Class, and Cadet Sgt. Alexa Hummel placed 4th in the Marksmanship Class.
