WASL test dates push calendar revision

Walla Walla Public Schools has revised the 2007-2008 school year calendar due to the Spring 2008 Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) test dates.

 

This revision moves spring break and spring conference dates back one week to accommodate the Spring 2008 WASL test dates. Walla Walla Public Schools adopted its two-year calendar in February 2006, prior to the states release of the Spring 2008 WASL test dates which are in conflict with the districts previously approved 2007-2008 calendar.

 

School board members and district leaders believe the revision will better support student success on the annual WASL exams.Revised 2007-2008 calendars will be distributed to all staff, included in next years Parent/Student handbooks and posted on the districts website.
