Superintendent Carter names Administrative Assistant

Longtime district Administrative Assistant Betsy Adkins was named Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. Adkins will replace Marilyn Brown who is retiring at the end of August.

"Betsy has the experience and professionalism I'm looking for in this position," Superintendent Rich Carter said. "She has also been cross-trained using the electronic school board document system we use for 'paperless' board meetings."

Adkins has been serving as the Administrative Assistant for Assistant Superintendent Linda Boggs in the Curriculum and Instruction Department for the past seven years. Adkins worked as the school secretary at Berney Elementary for 28 years prior to her promotion to the Curriculum Department. Her position in the Curriculum Department is expected to be posted soon.

"I feel privileged to be named to this position," Adkins said. "I look forward to serving Dr. Carter and School Board members as we continue our proud tradition of excellent educational programs in Walla Walla."

Adkins will begin transitioning into the position in June and assume the full-time duties of this position September 1.
