Walla Walla to host Spring Big Nine football scrimmages

Big Nine Teams set to visit Walla Walla High School as part of Tri-City Team Football Camp

High School football fans wanting a sneak preview of the 2008 season will want to visit Walla Walla High School next week to watch Big Nine football action during the annual Spring Football Camp. Six teams will travel to Walla Walla June 17 and 19 to scrimmage at Walla Walla High School , 800 Abbott Road .

"We are excited about the change to a local camp format which allows us to scrimmage great teams, at a reduced cost, without the extensive travel," said Walla Walla High School Head Football Coach Marc Yonts. "Hosting scrimmages on the 17th and 19th is a great opportunity for parents and fans to come out and preview the 2008 Blue Devils, as well as other local teams."

Walla Walla High School cheerleaders will be working the concession stands and Lorenzo's is sponsoring the camp by providing discount pizzas. There will be music, officials, three film towers and plenty of football action.

Camp Highlights

• Walla Walla High School travels to Hanford High School to scrimmage Big Nine teams -- June 16 and 18
• Walla Walla High School hosts scrimmages in Walla Walla -- June 17 and 19
• All teams participate in a Jamboree at Lampson Stadium (located at Kennewick High School ) June 20 to culminate spring football camp. Schedule: Frosh scrimmages - 4 p.m., Junior Varsity - 6 p.m., Varsity - 8 p.m.
