Winter storm causes water damage at district facilities
Kudos to the district's maintenance staff for mopping up after the record winter storm. Overall, the district fared pretty well with mostly minor water damage. Below is a summary report of damages to district facilities.

Berney: An ice dam formed on the portable roof causing damage to approximately six ceiling tiles and 20 square feet of carpet got wet.

Blue Ridge: Approximately six offices were damaged by roof leaks. Carpet in these spaces had to be vacuumed and shampooed. Approximately 50 ceiling tiles had to be replaced in the school. Two computers were damaged by the water leaks.

Edison: An ice dam formed on the kindergarten portable. The water damaged 20 ceiling tiles and 200 square feet of carpet got wet. Leak in the east hallway by boiler room. Approximately ten ceiling tiles replaced and three window headers leaking due to ice dams on roof.

Green Park: Drain line on fire sprinkler system froze, broke and flooded main office and lobby.
East roof gutters froze, broke and leaked into computer room.
Gutter and drain line froze and broke by entrance from courtyard.

Prospect Point: Miscellaneous classrooms had small leaks from ice dams on roofs. Approximately ten ceiling tiles replaced.

Sharpstein: NW gutter froze, broke and allowed water to leak into the original staff break room on 1st floor.

Lincoln: Portable classroom had approximately ten leaks from ice dams on roof. Two offices and hallway on South end of main building had minor leaks.

Garrison: Woodshop had water leaking from ten holes in roof caused by large icicles that fell from 2nd story onto lower roof.
The hallway between gyms had roof leaks damaging ten ceiling tiles.

Pioneer: Ice dams on roofs caused leaks in approximately four offices.

Wa-Hi: Ice dams caused six leaks in the outside walkways (4-Academic and 2-Science)
Frozen gutter drains caused leaks in North side of VoEd building hallway. Approximately 40 ceiling tiles were replaced.
