Blue Ridge principal thanks staff, students and parents

Transfer will combine two central office positions into just one district-level position

Blue Ridge Elementary Principal Connie Taylor-Randall is transferring to the Curriculum Department at the end of the 2008-09 school year to serve as a Principal on Special Assignment.

This position was made available when current Employee Induction Coordinator Judy Peasley applied for an open teaching position at Edison Elementary and was the successful candidate.

Peasley is moving to Edison to teach 5th grade next school year. Current Title One/LAP Coordinator Leah Crudup was filling a one year only contract as a retire/rehire, so will not be coming back next year. Taylor-Randall will combine these two central office positions into just one district-level position.

"The stars aligned perfectly," said Assistant Superintendent Dr. Linda Boggs. "When Judy decided to follow her calling back to the classroom and with Leah in retire/rehire status, we knew Connie's skills were exactly what we needed to continue this systems work at a high level across the district."

Taylor-Randall also has specialized training in the Guided Language Acquisition Development (GLAD) program and will assist Bilingual Coordinator Diana Erickson in providing GLAD professional development for teachers as part of her new position.

This week Taylor-Randall took a moment to thank the Blue Ridge community for its support during her tenure as principal.

"I am humbled by the support of staff, parents, students, and the community with regard to my leadership at Blue Ridge," Taylor-Randall said. "In this position, I will continue to support teacher leadership and parent involvement at all schools including Blue Ridge."
