Lincoln Health Center opens for business
The Lincoln Health Center opened for business this fall after nearly two years of planning. This stand alone operation offers Lincoln Alternative High School students medical services, mental health and drug counseling and referrals to outside agencies as needed for a variety of health-related services.
Students are required to have a signed parent permission form on file in order to access services. Walla Walla Public Schools provides no funding or operational support of the Lincoln Health Center. St. Mary Medical Center is the primary funding source for the program.
"Walla Walla Public Schools school board members, administration and staff embrace the mission of the Lincoln Health Center and are grateful to this community-based group for bringing these services to Walla Walla to support the needs of at-risk youth in the community," Superintendent Rich Carter said. "This just proves a small group with a large vision can make a difference."
