September enrollment count similar to last fall's numbers
Deputy Superintendent Dr. Bill Jordan reported to school board members Tuesday night the district is serving about the same number of students it was serving at this time last year.

 Jordan reported the district logged 5808.27 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) students on the first official enrollment count for the 2009-2010 school year. These figures do not include Alternative Education Program (AEP) or Running Start students. Last fall the district reported 5801.74 FTEs for the September 2008 enrollment count.

Enrollment this fall is up at elementary schools, down at middle schools, up slightly at Walla Walla High School and down at Lincoln Alternative High School.
