Ron Higgins to direct district's Technology Department
Longtime administrator and educator Ron Higgins has been named to direct the district's Technology Department as part of a reorganization plan to reduce costs in the wake of state funding cuts to Walla Walla Public Schools.

Higgins is currently the district's Director of Assessment and will continue managing these efforts in his new role.  Higgins has also been an assistant principal and math teacher at Walla Walla High School. Current district Technology Director Janis Barton will be reassigned next year to an open position in the district.

Higgins said he will work to keep the district on the cutting edge of technology offerings in the school system.

"We have a dedicated team of professionals in our Technology Department who are committed to ensuring our staff and students have the technical tools they need to succeed in the 21st Century," Higgins said. "My role will be to provide the leadership and support necessary to deliver on these vital services."
