New Walla Walla High School head football coach resigns position

Recently hired Walla Walla High School varsity head football coach and math teacher Matt Hamlin announced he is resigning his positions from Walla Walla Public Schools citing a family decision to not move to Walla Walla .

Longtime Walla Walla High School math teacher and assistant football coach Mike Gobel will assume the head coaching duties on an interim basis for the 2010 season.

"I feel fortunate to have someone like Mike step into to this position and take on this leadership role in our program," Wilkins said. "We will provide him with the support he needs to be successful."
