Budget discussion topic at school board special meeting
School board members held a special meeting and work session Monday, August 9. Chief Financial Officer Pat Johnston briefed school board members on the district's proposed 2010-11 budget.

She stressed the district remains fiscally sound despite the state's economic recession and noted the district invests more in classroom expenditures than the state average. Superintendent Mick Miller said he plans to maintain this practice.

School board members are expected to approve the budget during next Tuesday's school board meeting. Budget details will be posted on the district's website -- Business Office page.

School board members met with new Superintendent Mick Miller to discuss district goals for the year and school board/superintendent operating protocols.

School board members also approved a Personnel Report (see the News section for details).
